OUR VISION

At
Nii Ananse World, our vision is simple yet profound, to create a sustainable future where wildlife thrives, forests flourish, and people prosper together. Inspired by Nii Ananse, the wise storyteller of African folklore, we blend ancient wisdom with modern conservation to protect nature, empower communities, and celebrate Ghana’s cultural heritage.

Weaving Wisdom, Wildlife & Community

“We believe that caring for the earth is a story we all share — and every tree planted, animal rescued, or skill learned adds a new chapter to that story.”

about

OUR STORY

Our journey began with compassion, rescuing injured and displaced wildlife from hunters and illegal traders.

What started as a small refuge in Assin Adadientem, Central Region, has grown into a 200-acre sanctuary of hope and learning.

Today, Nii Ananse World stands as a living ecosystem — combining wildlife protection, eco-tourism, afforestation, and community empowerment under one vision.

From Rescue to Renewal

2018: First wildlife rescues (porcupines, duikers, tortoises, monkeys).

2021: Launch of tree-planting and reforestation program.

2023: Construction of guesthouse, restaurant, and training centre.

Now: Expanding into eco-lodges, museum, and education centre.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to protect endangered species, restore degraded land, and empower local communities through eco-education and sustainable enterprise.
We work with local residents, schools, and conservation agencies to ensure that our impact goes beyond our sanctuary walls - reaching families, forests, and future generations.

THE SANCTUARY

A Home for Nature

Set across 200 acres of forest, grassland, and water, Nii Ananse World is more than a sanctuary -it’s a symbol of coexistence.

Our wildlife holding facilities currently house species such as porcupines, duikers, monkeys, peacocks, ostriches, tortoises, and more, each rescued and cared for with love.

Future expansion includes habitats for leopards, crocodiles, and other species under national and international conservation standards.

OUR PEOPLE

The Hands Behind the Vision

We’re a community of dreamers and doers - veterinarians, eco-guides, local artisans, and volunteers - all united by the belief that every creature deserves care and every community deserves opportunity.
Together, we are weaving a future where Ghana’s ecological and cultural wealth thrive in harmony.

“Ananse teaches that wisdom grows when it’s shared — and at Nii Ananse World, we share ours through action.”

OUR PARTNERS & RECOGNITION

We work hand-in-hand with the Forestry Commission, EPA, Tourism Authority, and local communities to ensure our work meets the highest standards of sustainability and ethics.

Our efforts have received local recognition for wildlife protection and environmental education, and we continue to seek partnerships that amplify our impact.
